What are your goals? What are your dreams? What’s on your heart to do, that you believe will bring happiness to your life?
There are many plans in a man’s heart,
Nevertheless the LORD’s counsel–that will stand.
(Proverbs 19:21, 27)
A few days ago, I wrote about getting God’s input for daily tasks. Here’s the big-picture view.
Ideas pop into my head all the time, and I bet you’re the same way. Which ones are going to turn out well? Which ones are going to be a blessing to me, or my family, or my friends?
Ever have an idea or an opportunity that had no bad aspects to it, yet still wound up costing you more (time, money, relationships) than you anticipated?
This is a lesson I’ve been taught more than I’ve caught, but I’m making progress: Take every idea to the Lord. Let His yes, no, or later be the deciding word. We’ll wind up better off, every time.
After all, Wisdom is seeing things from God’s point of view – and He can see the entire journey of our life, beginning to end. He knows where the guardrail is missing or where the bridge is out – and He knows which roads are smoothest and straightest.
