Wow – boasting and evil plans are in the same category?
I tried to find another verse, so I wouldn’t have to talk about this one. 🙂
This verse used to hold condemnation and a little fear for me, but now it’s a source of joy and hopeful anticipation.
The book of Proverbs has a lot to say about friendship, a lot of it in this chapter. This verse is a little more touchy-feely than most. 🙂
Are you seeking out the imperfect to justify your habit of being unhappy? Is there a narrative of your reality that supports your mood?
Another minor theme of Proverbs is laziness. I’m reminded of the importance of following through when I read this verse:
Obviously, we’re not supposed to surrender to wickedness. But is there more to that than we realize?
We need wisdom; that’s obvious. But – there’s another factor we need to remember.
Apply your heart to instruction… buy the truth, and do not sell it,
How about that! God is inviting us to see things from His perspective!
